Bye Venkman and hello Firebug

Good news to all javascript developers. I believe it has been a while and I believe you are having your hard time to develop your javascript code from time to time. Everytime when we talk about debugging our javascript, we start wondering where to start off. Especially when your boss said to you, "Hey, can you use Ajax or at least Dhtml to enhance your application ?" Well, I understand it's not your fault. Now, you can put away your paracetamol pills! I just came across a Mozilla Firefox's extension called Firebug. Check this out ! You can turn it off whenever you don't feel want to use it or you don't need it. So, let's try it out.

Why Firebug ?
Well, basically it helps you to do the following :-
  1. Web logging (don't use alert("ggeezz!!"); anymore! you have been clicking "Ok" for more than 40,000 times a day!)
  2. Javascript debugging (want to stop and step through your code ? yeah, you can do it with this. Cool, right?)
  3. Errors at your finger tips (it tells you if there is errors)
  4. Ajax Request Spy (it helps to log request traffic everytime when you fire an XmlHttpRequest)
  5. Life editing (it's no fun just looking at the DOM. it let you to edit some parts of the DOM)

and much more ! What are you waiting for ?

How to install ?
It's as easy as abc. Click on the picture below (I know most of you will surely click the picture I posted here. I mean click the following picture from this web site !) as you can find it here. and make sure you are using Mozilla Firefox browser and Firefox will do the rest ! See, I didn't lie.

Explore more and tell me how do you find it ;-)

Oppss..who did that again ?

A couple of days after the Sarawak Club caught by fire and now it's the Hin Onn Building's turn. My colleague just sent these to me. Goodness, who did that again?! I guess this is something to do with politics. At the same time, DUN(Dewan Undangan Negeri) is having a great meeting with the opposition. The newspaper is selling like a "hot cake". Pictures of the burning Hin Onn Building after the jump

Who did that ?

This morning when i was about to send my cousin to work, we came across a road-block by police. The road is actually heading to Civic Centre and Sarawak Club. We were puzzled and kept asking what happend, "is there any Big Boss coming at this weird early morning?". After a while, we ignore it since we took another path. My colleague send me an email titled "Sarawak Club Fire". Oh my.... see the pictures after the jump.

Still remember the first night dinner that I mentioned in my previous post? Well, I am lucky enough to have my last dinner at Sarawak Club. I guess that night was the best dish from Sarawak Club as well. So, nothing to lose but a sympathy heart where they really spend a lot of money for renovation before I had my dinner there. sigh, who did that!?

Second Night Dinner

Ok, here you go with the second night dinner at Lok Thian Restaurant.

Let's start...

First dish, cold platter containing drunken chicken, prawn, honey dew salad, fried fish cakes and fried mushroom in black venigar sauce.

Second dish, obviously is shark fin soup. yummmm...It's very thick! good good...

Third dish was baked herbal chicken. Nothing special here. Just a normal one ;)

Oh man, the fourth dish would be claypot pig trotters with chinese mushroom, celery, sea cucumber in oyster sauce. The pig trotters is a bit fat and oily. But it produce a lot of gelatine again that makes your lips sticky! yummy!! I love it...

Fifth dish was deep fried butter prawns. Ok, this time the butter prawn was not as enormous as the previous one i posted. But this butter prawns was accompanied with curry! Have you ever tried butter prawns with curry before? yum!!

Sixth dish would be deep fried fish with sweet and sour sauce. The fish doesn't looks attractive. They put too much starch which makes the fish yucks! mission failed :(

Seventh dish, stir fried celery with lotus stem, water chestnuts, french beans, almond slivers and fried anchovies. I would give this 7 out of 10 ;)

Then the last dish was the birthday cake! There were two of them and both were as yummy as each other! Yeah, that's about it for second night dinner. Of course our feasting does not end here. There were a lot more feast but I didn't manage to capture them all. Not even my cousin, Ah Ting. Alright, now is your turn to give your marks according to the previous post!

Enjoy! System.exit(1);

First Night Dinner

Hi all, as I promised to upload some photos here for the previous post on "Good Boy", and here you go!
My cousin didn't manage to capture the first and second dish, but anyway it's better than nothing..hehehe

The photos are after the jump.

This is the third dish. I don't know what they call it. But it is made of fried fish and chicken with a salted egg yolk at the center to form a meat ball. It is wrapped by chicken's skin and were deep fried. As you can see at the middle of the dish, there is a basket made of yam. Inside the yam basket were the fried chicken breast meat and veggie.

The fourth dish would be the steam fish with veggies. The fish was accompanied with spicy gravy. I were being told that it's the most expensive fish. Well, the taste of all fish are more or less the same. I can't tell how much the price of that fish after taking it. C'mon the taste are just as usual. Since they said it's the most expensive fish, I took more into my stomach..hehehe

The fifth dish is deep fried butter King Prawns with chicken meat. The prawn was accompanied with mayonise and butter. I can't admit these are the largest prawn I had ever had. Two Thumbs Up!!

The sixth dish was braised pork with yam in dark sauce. You can see some mushrooms there. The mushrooms makes the dish so special. It tasted so differently. The gravy are made of Chinese 5 spices ingredients. Fooohh...can't resist it. :-)

The seventh dish was stir fried sea cucumber, fish maw, mushroom with Bak Choy. Yummy!! The sea cucumber were so soft. Especially with the fish maw. They form a kind of gelatine to make your lips sticky! Oh my..how could I resist? Don't ever hold me back, else...don't blame me :-D

The eight dish was stir fried special mixed vegetables. Did I say special? Yeah, it's real special since it was a combination of more than 7 types of vegetables. Ok ok...stop counting har! I told you it's more than 7 types. Believe me once, ok? Good Boy don't tells lie! >.<

Ok, now we are about to the end. This is the ninth dish and it is also our final dish. My stomach is at the level of 99.5% full. Which mean, if I get another piece of pork or chicken; my stomach will burst!! Ok, let me finish this first. Inside the fruit platter, you can see something in red pink. It's our famous local food, Dragon Fruit!! Yummy~ As you can see some watermelon balls and some oranges and grapes. Grapes grapes grapes...I love grapes..don't you?

Well, this is my aunt whom I stayed with. She looks so charming and beautiful. Aha! She is the one who say I am a Good Boy! LOL!! Now, you can get a clearer picture of your imagination. :p

We really enjoy the food that night. Everybody is happy and singing all the way home. Ooppss...I mean we sing in our hearts. (._. )...

Alright, that's all for first dinner. Wait for my second post of second dinner. Then you can have a compare which restaurant's food is better :-D These are all the food from Sarawak Club. The next dinner would be from Lok Thian Restaurant. Stay tuned!

Another Good Boy

Hahaa...from the title, you can more or less guess what am I going to say. Feast after feast..dinner after dinner..gathering after gathering..Well, I will post more photos after this. Waiting for my cousin to compile them before I can put them up here.

Kinda tired PR~ing with all those old folks. Furthermore they are my distance relatives. All of them are so well-educated. They speak real english..Sometimes could even hardly hear them. What I can do is to node my head and smile with them and say "yeah, that's right... :-D" Well, some of them are Singaporean. I talked to a Singaporean and was saying about the standard of living at Singapore. Basically, they just can't afford to have two person working. Yeah, you're right. I was trying to say they can't afford to have both parent working at the same time while having their children stayed at home. They have to sacrifice either one of them(obviously is mummy lorr) to look after/ teach their children. Otherwise, you will see "I not stupid too (Singapore movie)" kind of drama happend in your family!

Sorry, I was a bit side track again. :-D Well, i think it does not come to my surprise that my aunt would say that again in front of people again. "He is a very good boy". Oh my...my cheek turn red and don't know where to hide my face. What I can do is to give them a smile..well, that's it.

Hhhmmm...am I really a good boy?

*wondering*

*poooffff*

Good boy

Currently, I am still staying with my relatives. Yesterday night, my uncle's siblings were all gathered in his house for a light dinner. His brothers who came from US (two of them) are staying with my uncle's elder sister's house. It's a bit wierd when I am dinning together with a bunch of Wong's (foochow) family. I felt like i am an outsider to them, luckily my aunt (my dad's elder sister) still with me. The only Yau's family who are dinning together with me. Well, tonight and tomorrow night will be having dinner as well. Wow, having a big feast here. Going to have a diet program after this. hehehe.

You must be wondering why on earth am I telling so much since my title today is "Good boy". Be patient lihh..That's just a brief introduction to the point that I wanted to say before I go deep into the story. :p When we are about to finish our dinner, my uncle's youngest brother ask me - "How old are you? You looks so young..(with an american ascent)". Then I replied him with "25 years old this year..". Suddenly my aunt so-called helped me to add-on, she said "Yeah, he is 25 this year and a very good boy.." Oh man, i was shocked at the very first moment when she said that. I stared at my aunt with my big rounded eyes and started to smile at her. Hahahaa...I don't know, how do you feel when you are old or mature enough but your elders said you are a good boy (in chinese they say "hen guai") kind of things. It's a bit geli (berdiri bulu roma ku!) to me. Hahaha, I mean it's nothing wrong with it. Just that, all of a sudden I felt like i am a kid again. Hahaha...anyway, in their hearts we are always their lovely children.

So, what do you think?

Definitely not my gf, pleasee..

Brazil~!!! What happend to you!

I just got the news from my friends blog (stephenlim.blogspot.com) that Brazil lose to France. How can this be? This is my favorite team!! Oh my..this is really ridiculuos. I just can't believe it. Are they taking this too lightly? Underestimate France ability? But hey! France has Henry, ok? Carlos, you are over confident by winning Ghana and that's your reward. Sorry to say that. Anyway, although Brazil is my favorite team and they lose, i guess the following match will be more and more exciting since we never know who will be winning Germany World Cup 2006. Well, i will say Germany. Let's wait and see..Germany, don't ever let me down again. Good luck Ballack!!

Hot Day!!

Oh my...it has been a week suffering from hot weather. Especially on Sunday afternoon. I just can't get myself cool down. I bathed 3 times a day! But still as hot as pan cake! When will this end...counting on it. Oh Lord, has mercy on us..pour down some water from heaven so that we can cool ourself down..amen!
