National Day

How do you spend your National Day with your family? Are you patriotic enough to hang our national flag outside your house? This year national day seems to be just another day. Is it just myself or are you feeling the same? I didn't see much flags along the roadside. Is it because of bad economy or our country is having political tsunami that causes all these to be so normal? I didn't feel like celebrating it. As we all know that our country is having political crisis. Some politician said the actual day of National Day should be 16th of September. The controversy keep going and racism issue has never been a close ended topic. What's the matter with it? Sigh!

After all these, it really makes me wanted to leave this country any sooner. No doubt many would say, "What is that to do with me?". Migrating to other countries doesn't solve anything. Racism is everywhere. Unless I am going back to China. Even so, they would said I am Malaysian still! Sigh, endless arguments. Let's hope for the best for this country to stay unite and peace. Anyway, let's see what I do and where I go on National Day :) Btw, my parents were with me spending the holiday together with my gf.

It's Sunday, so no other places other than Church! Brought my parents to the Church although this is the first time they visit my Church. They were complaining why does the Church service took so long to end. My dad kept asking me "when is this going to end?". I have to be very patient and answered him "lovingly" saying "soon, soon..." with smile of course(at Church marr...LOL!).

Not much people attend though :( Probably a lot still pigging at home.

At night time we went for some nice seafood! Yum!

Foohh...big lobster, but of course we didn't order. Too expensive for us. Nevermind, promised myself one day I will eat them all up! 'x'

Having seafood at "Taman Kereta" definitely have to choose ABC Seafood a.k.a. Ah Seng Seafood" or simply store No. 10 ;)

The next morning we went to Sarawak Cultural Village located somewhere at Damai Beach. It's a disgrace for me as this is the first time I pay a visit to this place. The Rainforest Carnival has been here for ages but I only manage to pay them a visit until then. It cost us RM25 per person, not too costly though. It's good to know more about your country's culture for just RM25!

Unique sculpture from different countries all around the world.

Aiseh, posing woh...

Nice view of a village. I can find peace here. Look at the river, it looks so calm.

"Rumah Bidayuh" - one of the tribes house. Looks like one of the hut we can find in Africa.

This is how it looks like from inside.

This is a "machine" for them to peel off the skin of rice before it's being processed. All you need to do is to spin it.

Handmade handicraft, anyone?

Rice pounding, I have no idea what they do with the rice pounding. Nobody was there to explain, sigh! It would be better if someone can explain it to us. I have to guess everything by myself.

Ok, this is the longhouse. This is a 5 doors longhouse. They told me the longest longhouse in Sarawak now is up to 90 doors! Impressive, it will be even nicer if we can have a look at it. It's very cooling under the roof of the longhouse, despite the hot weather out there.

Wow, they are bare foot eh? Can bare with the heat on the "papan" floor eh? *Salute*

State-of-the-art

It's told that those are the warriors skull and NOT baby's skulls. It's quite small, or are they covering something from us? (-_-"")...

Gongs

This is Penan tribe.
Tallest longhouse I can see.

They have an indoor performance(with aircond..aahh, at last) at 11:30 a.m. They performed all different kind of tribe's dance and all of them looks very interesting. I find this one the most interesting. Can you imagine what's next? ...

Exactly! they bite the whole thing with their teeth! They must be using Darlie toothpaste all the while, else how would they have such a strong teeth to hold that few Kilograms of thing with their teeth?? *Salute*

Yeah, basically that's all for my National Day. Quite entertaining and memorable. Especially with the "World Strongest Teeth" performance.
